Over $200,000 was raised across Chatham-Kent on Sunday for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Several communities held runs, 45 years after Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope.
Around $142,000 was raised in Dresden alone. This brought the community's overall total raised since 1996 to over $1 million.
"It was really cool to look out into the crowd of people and see the excitement in their faces and the pride we have in Dresden," said Meg Robinson, co-organizer of Dresden's Terry Fox Run.

Another community close to reaching the $1 million mark is Tilbury. Around $44,000 was raised in the community, bringing its overall commitment to nearly $921,000.
Mark Authier, co-organizer of the Tilbury Terry Fox Run, believes they'll soon follow in Dresden's footsteps.
"I do think we'll do it in a couple of years as Tilbury is a very giving community," he added.

Wallaceburg also held its own Terry Fox Run, raising around $37,000. This helped the community surpass $600,000 in donations.
Moira Walko-Eggett, co-organizer of Wallaceburg's fundraiser, explained it's a special feeling to help carry on the work done by someone she sees as the greatest athlete the country has ever seen.
"I don't know if there's anybody who can run a marathon a day, for how many days. He also did it without thinking he would be famous; he was doing it for a purpose," she said.
Walko-Eggett also called Fox a 'true Canadian hero.'

A run was also held in Blenheim, with the fundraiser collecting nearly $7,000.
All these totals are expected to change in the coming days as more donations come in.
