Harassment Charge

A 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged after police alleged he sent multiple inappropriate messages to a 37-year-old woman from Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they received a harassment complaint on Thursday and began investigating.

Police alleged the accused continued communicating with the victim between July 13, 2025 and Thursday after she asked him to stop.

The suspect was arrested in Chatham and charged with criminal harassment for repeatedly communicating with the woman.

Theft Charges

A 35-year-old Windsor man who was under house arrest has been arrested and charged after a theft in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the suspect was found in possession of the stolen property on Lorne Avenue in Chatham on Thursday morning following the theft of a package on Lacroix Street in Chatham earlier.

Police alleged two men went to a porch on Lacroix Street, removed a package, and left the area, adding the pair was later seen opening the package in a nearby alleyway.

The Windsor man faces multiple charges, including theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and failure to comply with his release order.

Police are still looking for the other suspect, a 33-year-old man from Chatham-Kent.

Careless Driving Charge

A careless driving charge has been laid against a 52-year-old man from Ingersoll following a crash between two transport trucks on Highway 401.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported two people were injured in the crash near the Orford Road exit on Monday morning.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, said the OPP.

The Ministry of the Environment was called to the scene because of a significant diesel spill, according to police.
