Thousands of people and hundreds of classic cars will take over downtown Chatham this weekend for Retrofest.
"At Tecumseh Park, we have vendors, live music, and activities for the kids, that's Friday and Saturday," said Kaitlin Goulet, Executive Director of the Downtown Chatham BIA. "We have the car show on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and we get about 400 to 500 cars out."
There is no pre-registration for the car show, which is open to classic cars that are 25 year or older.
"They register between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Come up to any of the barricades, and the volunteers will direct them to the registration booth to pay their $10, and give them their parking spot for the day," said Goulet.
Tecumseh Park will feature live music, activities for the kids, the Ms. RetroFest Pageant, a soapbox derby, and more.
"We will have our headliners Carson Janik Friday night, and on Saturday, we'll have Big Shiny Tunes. But live music going pretty much as long as the Park is open. So Friday that starts at 4 p.m., and Saturday starts at around 2 p.m.," said Goulet. "Within the park, you'll also see different organizations in there that we like supporting and working with. We'll also have the Lally Kids Zone that we always have, with different activities, and we'll have that big roller rink in the middle."
Other musical acts include Dirt Country, 40 Hours Over, and Walkin' 47.
A number of roads will be closed for Retrofest, including King Street and the Fifth Street Bridge.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) will be selling tickets for the Igniting Healthcare Retro 50/50. Tickets can also be purchased online at ignite5050.ca.
