Intimate Partner Assault

A 42-year-old Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged after a woman reported that she was assaulted the day before.

Chatham-Kent police allege the woman was punched, choked, and threatened with a hammer at an undisclosed location in Wallaceburg on Thursday afternoon.

The accused faces the following charges:

Assault

Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Choke, Suffocate or Strangle

Assault With a Weapon

Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Break and Enter

Break and enter charges have been laid against a 35-year-old Blenheim man after an alarm went off at a building on Queens Line in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police say the building’s windows had been smashed and a door had been forced open on Thursday. A man was found inside.

Officers later determined that the man was under mental and physical distress and he was taken to the hospital for medical care.
