Intimate Partner Violence Charges
A 42-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault, forcible confinement, and uttering death threats following an alleged history of intimate partner violence.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a report of threats in Chatham on Thursday morning. Police say the report involved a man and a 29-year-old woman, also from Chatham.
Police said their investigation discovered several historical incidents that occurred between August and December 2024 involving physical assaults, death threats, other threats, and forcible confinement.
The accused man is facing three counts of assault, one count of assault by choking, one count of forcible confinement, and two counts of uttering death threats.

Impaired Driving Charges
Impaired driving charges have been laid against two drivers after one is alleged to have rear-ended a freight trailer while driving the wrong way and the other was allegedly driving without the vehicle's lights on.
Chatham-Kent police say a 24-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged early Friday morning on Prince Albert Road in Chatham for allegedly driving the wrong way, swerving, and eventually crashing into the rear of a semi-trailer.
No injuries were reported.
She has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving by alcohol and drugs, and having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
Then on Thursday night, police say a vehicle was travelling without lights and having difficulty maintaining its lane on Water Street in Raleigh Township.
A 57-year-old man from Raleigh Township was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs and having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
