Thanksgiving weekend has rolled around again, which means there will be some closures across the municipality.
Municipal offices and most services will be closed on Monday, October 12 in recognition of the holiday. This includes Employment and Social Services, Fleet Services, Housing Services, Public Works, and the administration offices for Chatham-Kent's (CK) Emergency Services. In the case of a housing emergency, the Homeless Response Line is available at 519-354-6628.
Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission will also be shut on Monday.
Provincial services including the courts and Service Ontario will be closed. If you have a fine to pay, that can still be done online.
Chatham-Kent Public Health will be closed on Monday. Due to the lab schedule acceptance of well water samples will be paused starting at 11 a.m. on Friday until regular office hours resume on Tuesday.
Some health care services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's (CKHA) Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered on Monday.
Hemodialysis Care and Emergency Departments will be open and some diagnostic imaging will be available. All other CKHA departments will be closed for the holiday.
All Waste and Leaf and Yard Depots will be shut for Thanksgiving. Curbside garbage and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day for the entire week.
All arenas, theatres, museums, galleries, and libraries will be closed on the holiday Monday. Both the Gable Rees Rotary Pool and the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be open for free swims in the afternoon, but all other programming will be cancelled for the day.
Those who rely on public transportation will need to find another ride over the holiday, as Ride CK Transit services won't be operating.
