Symons' late goal helps end Maroons' mini losing streak

The Chatham Maroons ended their three-game losing streak with an impressive win against the London Nationals.

The two teams faced off in London on Wednesday, with the Maroons winning 3-2 after a late winner from Grant Symons.

London opened the scoring early in the first period when Cruz Ferguson found the back of the net.

The Maroons would tie the game later in the period when Aidan Edwards scored his first goal of the season. Getting the assists were Xandre Aitken and Carter Kucher.

The only goal in the second period came from Chatham's Jaxon Priddle, who fired in his sixth of the season. Kaden Sienko and Josh Harding with the helpers on the play.

The third period saw London equalize just a few minutes in thanks to Ryan Nichols.

Despite being outshot in the period, the Maroons were able to get the last goal as Symons found the back of the net with just over two minutes left to play. The only assist on the play came from Boris Genov.

Samuel DiBlasi made 25 saves for the win.

The Maroons will be back in action on Friday when they travel to take on the Listowel Cyclones. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
