Bruce and Grey Counties are inviting residents to take part in an upcoming virtual forum aimed at addressing homelessness and strengthening community supports across the region.
The Homelessness and Coordinated Access Community Forum will be held on Tuesday, November 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., bringing together local leaders, service providers, and residents to discuss current challenges and coordinated solutions.
The event will feature presentations from Grey County, Bruce County, YMCA Owen Sound Grey Bruce, and other community partners, focusing on topics such as prevention supports, emergency shelter programs, encampment outreach, transitional housing, and the region’s Coordinated Access and By-Name List system.
“Homelessness is a complex issue that requires collaboration across counties, agencies, and the community,” said Tina Metcalfe, Director of Human Services for Bruce County. “By working together, we can better connect individuals and families to the right supports at the right time and create pathways to stable housing.”
The forum is hosted and sponsored by the Grey Bruce Community Safety and Well-Being Planning initiative, which works with more than 70 community partners to create a safer, more supportive region through social development and prevention.
“This forum is an opportunity for our community to come together, learn about the coordinated efforts underway, and be part of the conversation on how we can collectively address homelessness,” said Anne Marie Shaw, Director of Community Services for Grey County. “We value community input and encourage everyone to participate, ask questions, and help shape our shared path forward.”
Participation in the forum is free, but advance registration is required by October 31, 2025. A meeting link will be emailed to participants one week before the event.
