A Bolton man is facing fraud charges in relation to an incident at a Wellington North quarry that spanned two years.
The Wellington OPP crime unit received a report of fraud from an unnamed quarry business in June 2024. According to police, a man had agreed to excavate and sell materials from the property and in return the business was to receive royalties. However, the investigation found that throughout 2023 and 2024 several truckloads of material were allegedly unaccounted for and the corresponding royalties were not paid.
The business lost more than $40,000, police said.
A 64-year-old man from Bolton is charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court in relation to the charges on November 28.
