Volunteers needed for annual Midtown Trail clean up

With the warmer weather settling in, the nuSarnia Foundation is looking to spruce up the Midtown Trail during its annual spring clean up.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the bisect of Midtown Trail and Howard Watson Nature Trail on Saturday, April 25. The cleanup is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Access and parking are located behind Swiss Chalet and Harvey’s on London Road.

Cleanup supplies will be provided.

Volunteers are asked to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, gloves, and a water bottle.

The multi-use trail spans from Lambton College to Sarnia's waterfront.

The grassroots organization said the initiative is about more than just cleaning up, it’s about stewardship, pride, and investing in the places we share.

Residents are encouraged to sign up to volunteer online. However, forms will also be available the morning of the event.

High school students are welcome to sign up in order to earn volunteers hours.

Environment Canada is forecasting a chance of showers on Saturday.

Participants are asked to check the foundation's Facebook page on Saturday morning in case of poor weather conditions. In which case, the rain date will be on Sunday, April 26.
