The Lambton Heritage Museum invites the public to take a step back in time and experience hands-on history at the Bygone Days Bash.
The event kicks off a new display at the museum.
"The event is also going to mark the opening celebration of our newly renovated agricultural hall, so it's a new exhibition where we look at the agricultural history of Lambton County, and we look at different parts of farming, including key topics like land clearing, plowing, planting, harvesting, processing crops, and caring for livestock," said Lambton County Museums and Archives Marketing and Events Coordinator Jessica Stevenson.
The family-friendly event will include live shows and demonstrations, as well as a barbecue.
"We're going to have the Great Canadian Lumberjacks, and they're going to be doing a show at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., so it'll be a show where they kind of show off some different skills with axes and chainsaws and different ways to cut wood. We're going to have some steam-powered threshing machines," said Stevenson. "We're also going to have some different historic demonstrations, including historic sewing, spinning, and hand carving."
The West Coast Lions Club of Grand Bend will host a BBQ with food and drinks for purchase.
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+) and students, $3 for children, and children aged three and under are free. It runs on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
