The Big Squeeze raises over $56K

A 'sweet' turnout during the sixth annual Big Squeeze community event raised $56,216 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton.

"This is our most incredible year yet, raising approximately $12,000 more than last year!" read their Facebook post.

Eighty-seven businesses participated by setting up lemonade stands across Sarnia-Lambton on Wednesday, August 5.

Auto House Honda raised the most money with $3,777.

Honourable mentions were given to Patrick Coutu with $3,650, the Wyoming Legion with $2,351, and Transco Waste & Recycling with $2,256.

Big Brothers Big Sisters said, over the years, The Big Squeeze has raised $181,854 in support of youth programming.

The organization also highlighted the Leon's Limelight award, presented to Trillium Villa.

"The excitement, creativity, and pride shared by residents and staff shine through in every part of the day," said Big Brothers Big Sisters. "Their generosity, including their resident council matching their fundraising total, is a true reflection of their kindness and community spirit."
