The Sarnia Sting have signed goaltender David Healy to an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Standard Player Agreement.
The 17-year-old was selected by the Sting in the sixth round of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
The Mississauga, Ontario native joins the organization following a strong 2025-2026 season with the Toronto Titans U18 AAA.
He posted a record of 14-3-4 with eight shutouts.
In a news release, Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said he's optimistic about the signing and the netminder's experience.
“Healy had a really strong season with the Titans and at the GTHL (Greater Toronto Hockey League) last year," said Seca. "He took his team to the Ontario Hockey Federation championships, which was coached by our Toronto scout Jason Nobili. We knew he had really strong athletic abilities, and he's now proven that he can translate that into a real clean and efficient game. He’s an aggressive goalie, a great skater and extremely committed to his craft. We think locking up [Healy] sets our organization up for success now and down the road."
Healy's signing gives the Sting three goalies, joining import Ivan Tkach-Tkachenko and Kale Osipenko.
The Sting will open their regular season on September 19 in Sault St. Marie.
