Residents in Petrolia will have an opportunity to hear directly from municipal candidates during an upcoming all-candidates event this week.
Organized independently by a grassroots group of local residents, the Petrolia All-Candidates Night will be held on Thursday, October 15 at Victoria Hall from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
With mayoral candidate Joel Field acclaimed to the top seat, the event will focus entirely on the race for council.
Community members will have a platform to ask questions and hear positions directly from the 12 candidates running for one of six council seats.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
While attendance is free, seating inside Victoria Hall is capped at a maximum capacity of 400 patrons on a first-come, first-served basis.
Voting in Petrolia will open online on Friday, October 16 and will run through election day on Monday, October 26.
