The Inn of the Good Shepherd's cash calendar is back for another year, with over $11,000 in prizes up for grabs during the month of January.
Tickets officially went on sale Monday, October 19, and there are 5,500 available which is an increase of 500 over last year.
Fundraising Coordinator Melissa Roushorne said they sold out one week before Christmas in 2025.
"We thought we would increase the numbers since there was a demand," said Roushorne. "On January 1 and 15, we're raffling off $1,000. Every day otherwise, it's $250. And then on January 31, the person has the chance to win $2,000. So with only 5,500 being sold, the odds of winning are pretty good. And if you win, your name goes back in the draw."
There will also be a bonus draw on February 19 at DeGroot's Nurseries who have donated a $300 gift card.
Roushorne said they also make great teacher's gifts, and stocking stuffers.
She said if they sell out, they'll make just over $40,000 for the Inn's rent and utility program and food bank.
"Our food bank sees about 2,200 people a month. Our rent and utility has helped about 230 over the course of a year," she said. "We're paying people's rent, we're paying their utilities so they don't get cut off and that's a huge program as well which I don't think a lot of people know about and it's a great one. With the (rising) cost of food and donations are down, this helps considerably and it's sort of an easy way to help the inn but then also win something for you as well."
Tickets are still only $10 with participants getting at least 31 chances to win.
Daily prizes are $250, with $1,000 available to be won January 1 and 15 and someone taking home $2,000 on January 31.
