The Sarnia Sting have brought in a reinforcement for their blue line.
The OHL club announced on Friday afternoon that it had signed defenceman Chase Sewell to a standard player agreement.
The 16-year-old Sewell is a native of Aylmer. He spent most of this season with the Junior B Strathroy Rockets, but played five games with the Sting as an affiliated player.
"Chase has demonstrated significant growth this season in Strathroy and has made a strong impression during his time with our group," said Sting General Manager Dylan Seca. "He brings size, reach, and a high level of competitiveness to the blue line, along with a clear commitment to playing a reliable defensive game. We look forward to continuing his development within our program and strengthening our partnership with Chase and his family."
Sewell is 6' 5" and weighs 201 pounds. He scored two goals for seven points in 39 games for Strathroy.
