The Municipality of Lakeshore and the University of Windsor have formalized a partnership to enhance research and student opportunities.
"It's our goal to mix up our collective talent and move ourselves into the future around comprehensive development with a shared team and a shared vision," said Mayor Tracey Bailey.
In addition to providing co-op and internship opportunities, university researchers will work with the municipality on challenges it faces like in planning and housing.
"It's going to provide opportunities for our students to get real life experiences in a wide range of areas. But also our researchers at the university to really work with a local government and provide solutions to current day challenges," said University President Robert Gordon.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the municipality and the university was officially signed on Tuesday afternoon.
