Free bus service to the LaSalle Strawberry Festival

The LaSalle Strawberry Festival opens on Thursday, and when it does, LaSalle Transit will offer extended hours of service at no charge.

Buses will run during festival hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The final pick-up will be minutes after the festival closes.

There will also be a free shuttle bus on Friday night to bring patrons to and from the fireworks. The bus will run every 30 minutes.

The fireworks, presented by Valente Development Corporation and Remo Valente Real Estate, will be launched near the pond at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex. The fireworks start at 10 p.m.

For those driving, parking is available at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing off Bouffard Road. Additional parking is at Front Road and Laurier Drive.

Just a heads up that a section of Mike Raymond Drive closes on Monday until June 9. Drivers arriving at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Centre will have to do so from Laurier Parkway.

The LaSalle Strawberry Festival also features a carnival, parade, live entertainment, and of course, local strawberries.
