Brentwood crowns Dream Home Lottery winner

A facility helping those battling addiction has turned over the grand prize of one of Ontario's longest-running home lotteries.

The 33rd Annual Brentwood Dream Home Lottery reached a climax on Friday when its winner was named. David Taylor of Windsor was presented the keys to his new home in Amherstburg.

The lottery was run between October 2024 and January of this year, and is the largest annual fundraiser for Brentwood Recovery Home in Windsor.

"We are truly grateful for the relationship we have built with NOR-Built Construction for the past two years, and for the beautiful million-dollar dream home presented today," said Brentwood Executive Director Sonja Grbevski. "It’s such a thrilling experience to be able to bring joy to the prize winners, especially during these difficult financial times. A lottery win is something we all dream about and it’s great that we get to make someone’s dream come true here today."

NOR-Built Construction built the home that was given away.

"We are thrilled to have been asked to be part of this project again and for helping make a dream home a reality for someone today," said NOR-Built Construction Owner Norbert Bolger. "We specialize in custom-designed and built homes, and this year’s winner has won a very nice home, worth over $1-million."

The home, in the Brittany's Gate area of Amherstburg, features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.

Ticket sales for the next Brentwood Dream Home Lottery will begin in October.
