If you visited one of the Carrousel of the Nations villages last weekend, you were one of 50,000 people who did.
Fred Francis, Executive Director of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County, said there were 10,000 people in the Greek village alone.
At least one village ran out of food.
It was the Irish village's first time participating, and it ran out of stock last weekend. Francis figures the village will be better prepared for this weekend now that it knows what to expect. He anticipates even more people will come out this coming weekend.
"Weekend number two is usually larger, and we have six more villages coming on," said Francis. "After weekend one, people are pretty hyped up to go to weekend two because if they didn't go to weekend one, they're like, 'Oh what did I miss?'"
Parking was an issue during the first weekend of this year's event. Francis said the council will discuss it further after the festival, but he has some ideas already.
"What we were hearing is that people are finding it hard to park or are parking blocks away, so perhaps we can do some transit options, work with Transit Windsor in the future," he said.
Carrousel of the Nations celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
