Clear skies forecast for the Ford Fireworks

Environment Canada is warning those going to the Ford Fireworks along Windsor's riverfront Monday night to prepare for the heat and humidity, especially if you're headed out early to find a spot to watch the show.

It's expected to reach 36 Celcius on Monday, but the humidity will make it feel like 46 Celcius.

"As the evening comes through and the sun sets, temperatures will still be in the low 30s," said Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder. "Not much relief towards the start time of the event."

If you do head down to the riverfront Monday afternoon or evening, Flisfeder said you'll want to be prepared.

"You want to make sure you have a plan to stay cool. Stay hydrated as best you can if you're going to spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun," said Flisfeder.

The heat and humidity will stick around all week. Flisfeder said we might get some relief from the humidity around Wednesday, but temperatures over 30C will persist into Friday.
