Investigations continue into recurring gas emissions in Wheatley.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent said there is no risk to public safety, but residents are advised to avoid the areas of 35 Talbot Road West and 35 Erie Street South.
"As the investigation continues, our top priority is public safety," said Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue (CKFR) Chief Chris Case. "We are working closely with technical experts and provincial partners to determine the source of the gas and take any actions necessary to protect the community."
The ongoing investigation means that the Wheatley branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will stay closed for the foreseeable future.
According to the municipality, library staff will provide temporary library services at other locations in Wheatley if the closure lasts for an extended period of time.
