Windsor police say they've received additional reports of unsolicited home repair offers.
Officers from the Financial Crimes Unit have seen an increase in complaints from people who have been approached by those offering home improvement services.
The complaints involve people who have provided unsolicited quotes for work, intentionally caused damage while doing said work, and then demanded payment to "fix" the problem.
Police say residents can protect themselves by doing a little homework.
"If approached, please verify the legitimacy of the home repair company before agreeing to services or sharing personal information," read a tweet from Windsor police.
If you notice any unusual activity, take down the licence plate and description of the vehicle and call police immediately.
