Man charged after allegedly threatening police officer with a knife

A 28-year-old is facing charges after allegedly threatening people with a knife.

Around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Windsor police say they received reports that a man was going to a store to purchase knives to kill people. While police were responding to the call, they received a second report that a man had entered a business on Walker Road, yelling and causing a disturbance.

Police report that the man purchased a three-pack of knives and concealed them in his waistband.

Officers found the man near the store, and when one officer approached him, the suspect drew two knives and raised one aggressively.

The officer de-escalated the situation, and the man was arrested without further incident.

The 28-year-old is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, assaulting a police officer, failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
