A man prohibited from alcohol consumption after a second-degree murder conviction is facing impaired driving charges.
Windsor police say they were called to the area of Tecumseh Road East and Lincoln Road for a crash around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They found a black SUV with its front passenger side resting atop the hood and windshield of a parked vehicle.
Officers report they detected a strong smell of alcohol when speaking with the driver. Their investigation revealed the 69-year-old was under strict parole conditions prohibiting alcohol consumption stemming from his 1992 conviction for second-degree murder.
The man was arrested and charged with impaired operation, exceeding the blood alcohol concentration, and failing to comply with a release order.
