Experience the excitement of the second annual Outdoor Accessibility Fest-For-All, coming to Amherstburg this year.
Last year, the event took place at Colchester Beach. This year, the Essex County Accessibility Advisory Committee is excited to welcome even more attendees to the Libro Credit Union Centre in Amherstburg.
The event is free and open to all from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 12.
"Amherstburg is honoured to host this event, and there's no better place to host it at the Libro Centre -- an accessible facility and home of Canada's first ever Miracle League," said Amherstburg Mayor Michael Prue. "There will be something for everyone at this amazing festival, and it is my hope that people come to Amherstburg from far and wide to learn more about accessibility issues and the importance of building inclusive, barrier-free communities."
To start the day, members of the Amherstburg Miracle Team will host a baseball game. The team welcomes players of all abilities. Later, attendees can watch an exhibition sledge hockey game by the Windsor Ice Bullets inside the Libro Centre's accessible arena.
More than 40 information booths will be available, and everyone is invited to participate in activities designed to promote inclusion and accessibility for all ages and abilities. The event also features exhibits, music, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with those working to improve accessibility across the county.
