The Windsor Police Service brought its search for a missing 37-year-old man out to Kingsville on Thursday.
Police are "concerned" for the safety of David Pavao, who was last seen on August 13 in the area of Brock Street in West Windsor.
"Speaking with the family, this is extremely unusual. He usually will go a few days without talking to them, but never an extended period of time such as this," said Staff Sergeant Joe Faddoul.
Police would not report exactly what led them to the area of Albuna Townline and Mersea Road 11.
"We have our public order unit, who is cross-trained in search and rescue, they're out here right now searching the roadways, the ditches for anything that could lead us to or give us some sort of indication as to where David Pavao may be," said Faddoul.
Faddoul said the search was expected to take one day but officers could still be in the area on Friday.
Pavao is described as a Black man with a light complexion who is approximately 5’9” tall with a medium build. He has tattoos on both arms.
