Drug trafficking suspect rearrested for bail violations

Windsor police say a man facing drug charges has been arrested for alleged bail violations.

Police say the man was first found guilty in March 2023 on charges of possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm without holding a license, assault, and failing to comply with a non-communication order. He was released on conditions that included not possessing any weapons.

The man was granted bail again, in October 2024, on charges that included three counts of breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and failure to comply with a release order. His new conditions included living with his surety, house arrest, and electronic monitoring.

Bail compliance officers investigated and found that the man had violated conditions again.

On Thursday, officers arrested the man at a home on Howard Avenue off Eugenie Street East. He is now charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order and one count of breach of probation.

Officers also arrested the man's surety, a person who agrees to supervise a person on bail and ensures they follow conditions. They are charged with one count of facilitating a breach of a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
