The City of Windsor will begin a second upgrade for a popular west-end park this week.
Crews will begin work on the paving of a parking lot at Mic Mac Park on Tuesday.
The gravel lot, adjacent to the Kimmy Lucier playground, will be paved, providing a cleaner environment for visitors. New drainage will also be added.
The park as a whole will remain open, but some areas may be closed as construction warrants, and there may be minor disruptions to the playground.
The work is expected to be completed by late November, weather permitting.
Work has also begun on the new backstop at nearby Father Cullen Baseball Stadium. New footings are also being prepared for the netting system. That project is expected to be completed by the start of the 2026 baseball season.
The latter project was supported by a donation from the Toronto Blue Jays' community service arm, the Jays Care Foundation.
