5 suspects wanted after carjacking on University Avenue

Windsor police are looking for a group of suspects following a carjacking in the city’s west end.

Officers responded to University Avenue West on Friday night after reports of an armed robbery.

According to police, the victim was walking towards his vehicle when he was confronted by a group of suspects. One produced what appeared to be a gun and pointed it at the victim's chest. The suspect demanded the victim's belongings and fled the scene in the victim's car.

A white 2012 Volkswagen Jetta with the license plate ATEH 285 was stolen.

No injuries have been reported.

As a result of the investigation, police are looking for five suspects.

The primary offender, wanted for robbery with an offensive weapon and theft of a motor vehicle with violence, is described as a male with a slender build, approximately 5’5”. He was wearing all black clothing and a blue ski mask at the time of the incident.

Police are also looking for a white man with a large build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey sweater, jeans, white shoes, and glasses.

The third suspect is a white female with a heavy build. She was wearing a red sweater, black pants, a black cross-body bag, a black hat, and khaki-colored boots when the incident took place.

Police describe the fourth suspect as a white man with a slender build. During the incident, he was wearing a green sweater with the hood up, beige pants, boots, and a blue bandana around his neck.

The fifth suspect is a white man with a large build. He was wearing a black sweater with the hood up and a black hat at the time of the incident.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken control of the investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
