Chief recruitment continues

The search for a new police chief for the Windsor Police Service continues.

Chief Jason Bellaire announced in February that he would be retiring in November.

Windsor Police Service Board Chair Jo-Anne Gignac said there will be a new chief in place before Bellaire steps down.

"Everything is under control and nobody is concerned in terms of the process that we've under taken or the timelines that we're taking in terms of the interviews," said Gignac.

Gignac indicated the recruitment committee has been evaluating many good candidates, both internal and external, for the position.
