Kingsville to vote in-person in 2026

The Town of Kingsville is following the trend and moving back to in-person voting for the 2026 municipal election.

Since 2003, the town has used Vote by Mail or internet/telephone voting in its municipal elections.

Kingsville Mayor Dennis Rogers said they heard from many residents who wanted to return to in-person voting.

"I know that traditional, in-person gives a lot of sense of security within our residents, and peace of mind," said Rogers.

In-person voting will cost the town around $190,000, about $20,000 more than voting by mail.

"This is what our residents asked for, this is what they wanted," said Rogers. "There's always a monetary aspect to it, but our residents get a lot of value out of this voting method and that's why this decision was made."

The Municipality of Leamington and the Town of Essex are also moving back to traditional voting in 2026.
