Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Game Block Party closes roads downtown

Driving around downtown Windsor may be a challenge on Thursday once the city closes roads for a block party celebrating the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving Day game against the Packers.

The roads will close as of 9 a.m. and reopen at 9 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, the city shut down Ouellette Avenue between University Avenue and Park Street.

Thursday's closures are:

* Park Street East from Freedom Way to Ouellette Avenue

* Park Street West from Pelissier Street to Ouellette Avenue

* Ouellette Avenue between Park Street and the northbound street parking in front of 430 Ouellette Avenue

* Partial closure on Ouellette Avenue from Wyandotte Street to 430 Ouellette

The block party gets underway at 10 a.m., and the game starts at 1 p.m.
