LaSalle police cite a pair of weekend stunt drivers

Police in LaSalle say that performing stunts and excessive speed landed two drivers in hot water over the weekend.

Both incidents took place on Saturday.

The first was soon after 4 p.m., when a patrol officer clocked a vehicle on Front Road, going 103 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometre-per-hour zone.

The second was just after 11 p.m. at a business on Talbot Road. An officer spotted a pickup truck performing donuts in the parking lot, with two people sitting in the bed of the truck.

A 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were each charged with stunt driving. The woman was also charged with refusing to provide her licence.

Both of their licences have been suspended for 30 days, and their vehicles impounded for 14 days.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
