A 67-year-old Essex man is facing sexual exploitation charges after an investigation by the Windsor Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Police say they launched the investigation last month after receiving a report that a 16-year-old had been sexually exploited online. The investigation revealed the victim had online communication with the suspect and also met him in person .
Investigators say they also discovered the man had been charged with sexual luring by the Chatham-Kent Police Service in 2023. He is bound by a release order that prohibits him from communicating with any females under the age of 18.
In connection with the investigation, the Windsor Police Service and Essex County Ontario Provincial Police searched a home on County Road 46 in Essex.
A 67-year-old man was charged with communicating with a person under 18 for a criminal offence, possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and failure to comply with a release order.
