The former Kingsville District High School has a new owner, but it's not the Town of Kingsville.
Mayor Dennis Rogers said the town found out Monday that its bid to acquire the property was not successful.
Asked if he knew the intentions of the new owner, Rogers said he did not, but hoped it would be something the town needed.
He also hopes the owner comes to the town soon for permits, because "that would mean they're building something."
He said the town does not want the property to remain unoccupied.
The Greater Essex County District School Board put the 14-acre property, the former Kingsville Public School and Windsor Stadium, up for sale in January.
