Man charged following assault at a party

Windsor police say a 33-year-old man is facing charges after showing up at a get-together and assaulting two people.

Officers were called at around 6 a.m. on Monday to a home on Campbell Avenue near College Avenue, and learned that the suspect had shown up at a party he wasn't invited to.

An argument began after the suspect was asked to leave and refused to do so. Police say the suspect struck a 21-year-old man in the face. He then allegedly struck a 17-year-old girl hard enough to knock her unconscious before fleeing the scene.

The male victim suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital. The female victim was treated at the scene.

The suspect was eventually identified and located on Windsor Avenue near Elliott Street East.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assault, assault with a weapon, entering a dwelling without permission, and breach of probation.

The charges have not been proven in court.
