Suspect arrested for violating bail, faces five counts now

A 49-year-old man already charged with break-and-enter, theft, mischief, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order, faces new charges for breaching his bail conditions.

Windsor Police say the man was released just two weeks ago from custody.

He was required to stay home and wear an electronic monitoring device.

However, officers learned he hadn't charged his ankle monitor, so they didn't know where he was. Further investigation revealed the man was not at his court-approved residence.

On Tuesday, police found the suspect on Mill Street.

He faces three new counts of failing to comply with a release order.

The Offender Management Unit supervises high-risk suspects ordered to stay home, curfews, and electronic monitoring.

Anyone wishing to report someone for violating their release conditions can call the Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or go to www.catchcrooks.com.
