Utility encouraging paperless billing to expand greenspaces

Essex Powerlines is hoping customers switch to its paperless billing option during April, as it will eventually help expand green spaces at local schools.

During April, the utility is putting aside a tree to donate to schools located in its coverage zone with every customer’s switch to paperless billing.

Essex Powerlines serves residents and businesses in Amherstburg, LaSalle, Leamington, and Tecumseh.

"We’re proud to connect a simple action like switching to paperless billing with a meaningful impact in our community,” said Essex Power Corporation COO Steve Ray. "Every enrollment helps reduce paper use while contributing to greener school spaces for students."

Trees will be distributed to participating schools in the four municipalities in May, for students to plant.

Customers who wish to switch to paperless billing, or who may have questions, should call Essex Powerlines' call centre at (519) 737-6640, or visit the utility's official website.
