Erie Shores HealthCare purchased some new equipment to support the pediatric department thanks to a donation from Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation.
The foundation donated $56,202 to the hospital to purchase a new infant warmer and a pediatric vein finder.
“Through the generosity of Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation, babies and children receiving care at Erie Shores HealthCare will benefit from technology designed specifically with their unique needs in mind,” said Penny Bellhouse, CEO of Erie Shores Health Foundation. “These are not simply pieces of equipment; they are a meaningful investment in care for our smallest patients. We are incredibly grateful for to have this equipment for local families to count on, thanks to W.E. Care for Kids.”
The infant warmer regulates temperature and offers respiratory support for newborn babies. The pediatric vein finder allows healthcare providers to find veins more easily and with a better success rate.
“W.E. Care is proud to support initiatives that improve healthcare experiences and outcomes for children across our region,” said Viki Grado, Executive Director of Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation. “By funding this equipment, we are helping ensure that newborns and children receiving care in the county have access to innovative technology that prioritizes safety, comfort, and quality care.”
