An elementary school in Kingsville will get an expansion thanks to funding from Queens Park.
The Ministry of Education has pledged $5.1-million to the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB) for an addition to Gosfield North Central School in Cottam.
Essex MPP Anthony Leardi made the announcement on Thursday.
"The funding for the Gosfield North Central School Addition in Cottam is great news for our community," said Leardi. "Through this investment, we’re creating opportunities for students to thrive well into the future."
GECDSB CEO Vicki Houston said the addition will be a boost for students and their families in the Cottam area.
"This investment will provide significant benefits to the Gosfield North Public School community and support student success for years to come," said Houston. "The Greater Essex County District School Board appreciates this important addition and looks forward to the positive impact it will have once completed."
Once completed, Gosfield North Central School will have 55 new elementary school spaces, plus 73 childcare spaces.
