Man charged in serious Windsor stabbing

Windsor police say a man has been charged following a stabbing over the weekend.

Officers responded to a weapons call at around 10:45 a.m. Saturday on Church Street near University Avenue West. When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man with a stab wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the City Centre Patrol found the suspect minutes late in the area of University West and Dougall Avenue.

A 43-year-old man is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The investigation is ongoing. The charges have not been proven in court.
