Man charged with drug trafficking

A tip from a community member led to an arrest for street-level drug trafficking.

Windsor police said patrol officers were in downtown Windsor Thursday morning when they were stopped by someone who reported suspected drug trafficking.

During the report, the suspect took off, but police were given a description of the individual.

Later that day, police saw a man matching the suspect's description on Wyandotte Street near Ouellette. Police say they saw a suspected drug transaction.

The 37-year-old was arrested, and police seized fentanyl, hydromorphone, clonazepam, digital scales, debt lists, packaging materials, and over $3,800 is cash.

The suspect is facing multiple charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
