Windsor police say a teenager has been charged with allegedly threatening a 13-year-old with a gun over the weekend.
Officers were called to a south-end location at around 8 p.m. on Saturday.
They learned that the victim went to a house to collect money owed to him from a previous transaction. When he got there, he was confronted by the suspect, who pulled a gun out and said that his friend no longer owed him money.
The 13-year-old was able to leave unharmed and notify police.
The 15-year-old suspect, who can't be identified under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act, was identified. After several unsuccessful attempts were made to contact him, the suspect turned himself in to police headquarters at around midnight.
He is charged with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm without a licence, uttering death threats, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
The charges have not been proven in court.
The weapon allegedly used in the incident has not been recovered.
