It's not even Labour Day yet, and the Town of Essex is already starting work on its budget process for 2027.
The town has launched an online survey so residents can identify what capital project categories matter most to them. That feedback will help inform administration and councillors as they start work on the spending plan for next year.
"Public input is an important part of the municipal budget process," said Essex Mayor Sherry Bondy. "We encourage residents to take a few minutes to share what capital priorities matter most to them. Their feedback will help council and administration understand the community's priorities."
The survey is available online, but residents can find a paper copy of it too at Essex Town Hall, the Essex Centre Sports Complex, or at the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre.
The survey is open until the end of September.
