For the third year, the Windsor and District Labour Council will host its Labour Day celebration at Lanspeary Park on Monday.
Before the family-friendly event, the council will host its annual Labour Day Parade from the Unifor Hall on Turner Road to the park on Ottawa Street.
The parade, featuring union locals from across the region, will leave the union hall at 10 a.m. and arrive at Lanspeary Park an hour later.
Mario Spagnuolo, the acting president of the labour council, said this year's theme is "Workers Together, Defending Local Jobs." He said the importance of defending the rights of workers is ever more important amid Canada's trade war with the U.S.
At the park, those who go can enjoy food, drink, bouncy castles, a free swim, a tug-of-war competition, and live entertainment from British Beat 66.
The event wraps up at 2 p.m.
