The City of Windsor is starting pickup of tree limbs that fell during last Thursday's storms this week.
It'll be on the same day as the regular yard waste pickup, so residents are encouraged to refer to their waste collection schedule.
The city is asking residents to ensure branches are no longer than four feet long and no thicker than 10 cm. Branches shouldn't weigh more than 44 lbs, and where possible, residents should tie tree branches together.
Other storm-related debris can be dropped off at the public drop-off depot on North Service Road for no charge.
Forestry crews were out in the immediate aftermath of the storm to clean up fallen branches from city streets, receiving more than 400 requests on Thursday and Friday. Emergencies were prioritized, including hazardous tree conditions, downed trees, and trees posing a hazard to power lines.
Residents are also encouraged to log a "tree damage due to storm" service request on the Windsor 311 app or online portal for trees that have come down on municipal property.
