Bail Breach Arrest

An 18-year-old Chatham man with a very long list of serious charges is back in police custody after he was arrested for breaching his release conditions and having his surety pulled.

Chatham-Kent police said the accused was arrested on Thursday on Taylor Avenue in Chatham after his surety cancelled their bail obligation.

The teen is charged with several domestic-related offences stemming from an incident involving him and an 18-year-old woman from Chatham in June.

The ensuing police investigation revealed a series of allegations involving the accused between 2023 and 2024. He was charged with multiple offences, including assault, assault with a weapon, sexual assault, uttering death threats, forcible confinement, criminal harassment, and mischief.

Impaired Arrest

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 19-year-old woman from Raleigh Township after her vehicle was found facing the wrong direction on Queens Line in Raleigh Township.

Police said the woman was found sitting behind the wheel displaying signs impairment when officers arrived on Thursday just before 3 a.m.

They alleged the woman failed her breathalyzer testing.

The teen was charged with impaired driving by alcohol and drugs and having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
