Tecumseh's Santa Parade is Friday night

Christmas is coming early in Tecumseh.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday night, the town invites residents to come to Tecumseh Town Centre Park for its Christmas in Tecumseh festivities.

The event starts with the Santa Parade at 6 p.m., although residents might want to start lining the parade route early. Roads will close down at 5:15 p.m.

The parade will follow a route that will take it from Lacasse Park, north up Lacasse Street to McNorton Street, and then to Town Hall on Lesperance Road.

After the parade, residents can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in the council chambers at Town Hall.

Residents can also enjoy a petting zoo, public skating, horse and carriage rides, and what local vendors have to offer at the Handmade Holiday Market at the OPP building plaza on Lesperance Road.

All who go are asked to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item, clothing, or an unwrapped gift. The gifts will be collected by the Goodfellows throughout the evening at Town Hall and the Tecumseh Arena and Recreation Complex.

"Community spirit thrives during the holiday season in Tecumseh," said Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara. "This event brings the magic of the holiday season to life. We're looking forward to an evening filled with joy, tradition, and the spirit of giving, as well as creating memories that will last for years to come."
