Fire investigators say a fire on Wednesday night at a Victoria Avenue home under renovation has an undetermined cause.
The fire at the home on Victoria between Montrose Street and Ellis Street West caused $750,000 in damage.
Fire crews entered the basement, searched the home, but as the flames spread, they decided to switch to a defensive strategy.
A total of 32 firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported around 6:20 p.m.
Fire crews were able to transition back to an offensive strategy and re-enter the house for overhaul.
No one was hurt, but one person is looking for a place to stay.
Windsor Fire and Rescue reported on Thursday evening that the fire began in the basement where renovation materials were stored.
At the same time, firefighters battled the fire on Victoria, other units were sent to a home at 16 Ellis Street East to extinguish a kitchen fire in one of the units.
